Letter from the Chair

2019

We are so excited about this year’s conference, just a little more than two months away! Our program this year is full of inspiring talks on ethics, inclusion, voice interfaces, and new ways of thinking about proven practices in UX. I was impressed by the topics the community submitted last fall, and I cannot wait to hear the talks in person! There is enough variety in the program for newcomers to experts alike, and I know we will all leave with new ideas and methods to apply to our work as well as new friends and connections.

In addition to our amazing program this year, get excited about our venue in “new Scottsdale” Arizona! When I visited last year, I was impressed by the unique architecture and landscape of the area, and the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa pays tribute to the local heritage. The views of the nearby hills and lush green golf courses are a refreshing break from my usual views of the city in DC. We are proud to host our receptions onsite so you can indulge in the breathtaking views and vivid sunsets during the conference. Did I mention there is a bagpiper roaming the grounds and a waterpark with a surf simulator and lazy river? On top of that, travel to the resort is easy from the Phoenix airport, and we have a competitive rate for rooms onsite.

In the meantime, I am working with my co-chair, Jack Holmes, and Director of Events and UXPA International President, Sara Mastro, to make the event details memorable and accommodating for you! If you have any questions or ideas you would like to share, send us a note at chair2019@uxpa.org. If you have not registered yet, take advantage of our current pricing and register today!

Yours loyally,
